MRC is now deployed in production on NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet infrastructure at major AI factories including OpenAI, Microsoft's Fairwater, and Oracle's Abilene data center, and has been released as an open specification through the Open Compute Project. The protocol enables dynamic load balancing, microsecond-level failure detection and rerouting, and intelligent retransmission to minimize GPU idle time during network disruptions.","published_at":"2026-05-06T13:39:09.681+00:00","updated_at":"2026-05-06T13:39:09.75678+00:00","source":{"url":"https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/spectrum-x-ethernet-mrc/","name":"NVIDIA Blog (AI)"},"featured_image":{"url":"https://mrrqbmstywujcvowvptv.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/thumbnails/imports/897abf5ccf3730b2302c46740fd24bea.jpg","alt":null},"categories":[{"name":"Data & Training","slug":"data-training"},{"name":"AI Hardware","slug":"ai-hardware"},{"name":"Infrastructure","slug":"infrastructure"}]}]}
